Waiting Some More ...

I found out last week that the Border Agency "has my application, and are processing it".  So at least I know it hasn't dropped into a black hole.  This week though is pretty much a lost cause as today is a bank holiday for Easter, and this weekend there is another bank holiday for the Royal Wedding.

My lease expires this Sunday which will entail some backup planning on where to live.  Have already met with some of the people I will be working with, and still cannot wait to get started.

Waiting for Permission ...

Getting permission to work in the UK is a two step process.  First you need your Certificate of Sponsorship which isn't an actual certificate but a reference number.  This basically proves the the government that you have a job waiting for you and that you will be receiving a paycheck.  Once you have this number you can actually apply for your work permit/visa.

I'm currently waiting for Certificate of Sponsorship but have been gathering the supporting documents and photo's for the visa to help expedite the process.  Cannot wait to begin!

Welcome to my new blog.  My plan is to post often about my experiences living in St. Albans a city just outside of London.  My friends and co-workers suggested this as a way to share what is going on.

Currently I am waiting for my work visa to be finished processing and then I'm off and running.  Really looking forward to the experience.  My closest experience to living in a foreign location was when I lived in Texas.
